Hinchliffe Resigns

Transport Minister Stirling Hinchliffe resigned on 5 February 2017, after a litany of debacles with Queensland Rail and aspects of his portfolio - including the Limo Action Group Queensland's (LAGQ) vocal stance on ride-booking laws.

Over many months, the LAGQ tried to meet with Mr Hinchliffe to discuss insights and concerns the members had with the ride-booking laws. ​

Mr Hinchliffe refused to meet originally, and then failed to adequately respond when subsequent requests were sent. This policy of closed-line communication forced the LAGQ onto the streets to protest the laws, which saw good media coverage.

​Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk appointed Deputy Premier Jackie Trad as Transport Minister on 10 February 2017. The LAGQ will now be angling their efforts on actively seeking to have members' voices heard by sharing insights and airing concerns with those newly relevant in these discussions.
